About Me
I have two grown up children and work within my practice in the village of Merstham. Prior to qualifying as a Psychotherapist, I worked with a national charity in the field of parent education and support. In addition to the many years' experience I have gained from working with individuals and couples on a variety of issues, I am trained to work with groups, facilitating the difficult transitions experienced by parents, adolescents and children in the face of family breakdown.
In order to maintain and enhance good practice, I am required by UKCP to receive independent supervision and support on a regular basis, and to participate in continuing professional development to ensure that I am providing the best informed care.
I have a keen interest in the work of Dr Allan Schore, a leading researcher in the field of neuropsychology, who has made significant contributions to our understanding of the enduring affect of empathic failure and early trauma on brain development.
